Grass-Fed from New Zealand's Silver Fern Farm

We've been asked to explain the difference between New Zealand grass-fed and other meats, so here is some insight.
What does grass-fed actually mean in New Zealand?
In New Zealand, the climate, clean air and plentiful pure water fuels year-round growth of lush, green pastures. The animals are raised year-round, on this pasture, with access if needed to conserved forages like hay and silage. It also means that they have been raised with the ability to wander and graze freely. The animals can eat and live as they would naturally – reducing stress and promoting better animal welfare.
What does that mean for meat?
With a diet of rich grass animals grow strong, healthy and lean. The meat that is produced has a consistently delicious, distinctive flavor – the mark of red meat as it naturally should be. It’s leaner, more finely textured and nutritionally better for you. Compared to grain-fed, grass-fed meat is lower in saturated fat, and higher in vitamins A and E, conjugated linoleic acid and omega-3 fatty acids.

Cuts are hand-selected by an Accredited Master Grader, and are then aged with care for at least 21 days. The Silver Fern Farm new range is proof that only the best beef makes the cut. Each of their beef product carries an EQ Master Grade – the mark of Eating Quality.

The Animals at Silver Fern Farm
Silver Fern Farm's animals are raised to the highest animals welfare standards. In line with the New Zealand Farm Assurance Program, they are treated with utmost care and respect at every step. Each animal is individually tagged on farm under the National Animal Identification Tracing system and tracked using RFID technology.

Their production process are rigorously tested and audited to ensure we meet the highest standards internationally, including the USDA and BRC. Each product is packaged with care and labeled with its point of origin and assigned a unique lot number.
